Monthly payment

Your estimated principal and interest payment each month.

Total interest

The estimated borrowing cost over the full loan term, excluding fees.

Total repayment

Your loan amount plus estimated interest over the full term.

Estimates are for educational purposes and are not loan offers. This calculator assumes a fixed annual interest rate, equal monthly payment periods, and the first payment one month after funding. It excludes fees, variable rates, balloon structures, and extra payments. Amounts are rounded for display; totals use unrounded calculations. Actual lender calculations and terms may differ. Your entries stay in this calculator and are not sent to our financing partner.

How to Use the Business Loan Calculator

1. Enter Your Loan Amount

Enter the amount you plan to borrow. Try different amounts to see how financing a larger or smaller portion of your business needs changes the payment.

2. Add an Annual Interest Rate

Use a lender’s quoted interest rate or enter an assumed rate to explore a scenario. The calculator keeps this rate constant throughout the loan term.

3. Choose Your Repayment Term

Enter the repayment period in months or years. Compare several terms to understand the balance between monthly payments and total interest.

4. Review Your Results

Select Calculate to see your estimated monthly payment, total interest, and total repayment. Expand the repayment schedule for a monthly breakdown or download it as a CSV file.

What Your Results Mean

Monthly Payment

Your estimated monthly payment includes principal—the amount you borrowed—and interest. The calculator assumes equal monthly payments over the selected term.

Total Interest

This is the estimated interest paid over the life of the loan. It does not include origination fees or other lender charges.

Total Repayment

This is the original loan amount plus estimated interest. Use it alongside the monthly payment to understand the full repayment commitment modeled by the calculator.

Repayment Schedule

The schedule shows how each monthly payment is divided between principal and interest, along with the remaining balance.

Business Loan Payment Example

For a $100,000 loan with a 10% annual interest rate and a five-year repayment term, the calculator estimates:

Result Estimated amount
Monthly payment $2,124.70
Total interest $27,482.27
Total repayment $127,482.27

This example assumes a fixed interest rate, 60 monthly payments, and no fees or extra payments. Amounts are rounded, and the lender’s actual calculations may differ. The example is not a financing offer.

Compare Monthly Payments and Total Cost

For the same loan amount and interest rate, extending the repayment term generally lowers the monthly payment but increases total interest.

A shorter term generally means higher monthly payments and less total interest. Try both scenarios to understand the trade-offs before exploring financing.

You can also use our Loan Comparison Calculator to review two loan scenarios side by side.

Calculator Assumptions

This calculator models a fixed-rate loan repaid through equal monthly payments, with the first payment due one month after funding.

It does not account for lender fees, changing interest rates, extra payments, balloon payments, or daily and weekly repayment schedules. Use the results as planning estimates and compare them with the terms in any actual financing offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the business loan calculator free?

Yes. You can use it for free to estimate payments and explore different loan amounts, interest rates, and repayment terms.

How is the monthly business loan payment calculated?

The calculator uses the loan amount, annual interest rate, and number of monthly payments to estimate a fixed payment that repays both principal and interest over the selected term.

What interest rate should I enter?

Enter the annual interest rate quoted by a lender, if you have one. Otherwise, test several assumed rates to explore possible costs. An assumed rate is not an indication of the rate you will qualify for.

Should I enter an interest rate or APR?

This calculator uses the loan’s annual interest rate. APR can reflect certain financing fees in addition to interest. Entering APR in place of the interest rate may not reproduce a lender’s payment calculation.

Does the calculator include loan fees?

No. Origination fees, closing costs, and other lender charges are excluded. Review those charges separately when comparing offers and calculating the overall cost of financing.

Does a longer loan term save money?

For the same amount and interest rate, a longer term generally reduces the monthly payment but increases total interest. A smaller payment does not necessarily mean a less expensive loan.

Can I see how much principal I repay each month?

Yes. Expand the repayment schedule to see the principal and interest portions of each payment and the estimated remaining balance. You can also download the schedule as a CSV file.

Can I calculate the effect of extra payments?

This version assumes scheduled monthly payments only. It does not model extra principal payments or an early payoff.

Can I use this for loans with daily or weekly payments?

This calculator assumes monthly payments. It does not accurately model financing with daily or weekly payments, factor-rate pricing, or other repayment structures.

Will using the calculator affect my credit score?

No. The calculator does not perform a credit check or submit a loan application.

Does the calculator tell me how much I qualify to borrow?

No. It estimates payments based on the numbers you enter. It does not assess eligibility, determine borrowing limits, or approve financing.
